September is with us and suddenly there is a subtle change as harvesting starts to take over from propagation in how you spend your time in your garden!
We have had some well needed rain down here in the south-west and in my opinion, vegetables are cropping that bit earlier and the same is true for flowers blooming!
But the year moves on, so let’s see what tasks await us in our September garden!
June is upon us already! It’s hard to believe six months of the year has already gone!
Spring began wet and then the weather turned dry with blue skies, albeit with cold northerly winds, particularly in the south west! May then was mainly dry with warm temperatures.
November is a good time for contemplation. Take a good luck at your lawns. Happy with them? If not, look at an action plan for next year in terms of what needs doing and when.
There are some good companies operating nationally who will come and renovate your lawn and carry out all maintenance leaving you to do just the mowing to do!
Remove the last fading blooms from roses and cut back taller stems by half to prevent winter ‘wind rock’ from loosening the plants roots.
