February: Prepare for Spring: Early Steps to Revive Your Lawn

February might be cold and wet, but signs of spring are just around the corner.

I’m Monty, your lawn care guru, and this month we’ll focus on preparing your lawn for the exciting months ahead.

Monty’s Lawn Tips for February

1. Watch your step: Wet grass is delicate, so avoid unnecessary foot traffic to prevent compaction.

2. Tidy up: Keep clearing debris from the lawn to ensure air and light can reach the grass. A Mountfield leaf blower is a great way to do this.

3. Check for moss: Damp conditions are perfect for moss growth. If you spot any, consider applying a moss killer and prepare to scarify in spring.

4. Edge maintenance: Crisp lawn edges make a huge difference to your garden’s appearance. Use a Mountfield strimmer to tidy them up.

Monty’s Top Tip for February

Take advantage of any dry days to lightly aerate compacted areas with a garden fork—just gently poke holes to improve drainage and airflow.
